We will use this section of the EAA Chapter 1361 web site to try and keep you posted on the some of the on-line and off-line education opportunities for pilots, builders and aviation enthusiasts.
When we have attended or completed one of the courses mentioned, an evaluation of the course will be provided.

ALPA Web Site for Aspiring Pilots
The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) has launched a new Web site aimed at inspiring young people to become professional pilots. ClearedToDream.org will provide future pilots with the latest tools and information on becoming an airline pilot, ALPA said. The site features information about education and certification requirements, career choices, examples of daily life on the job, and more.

NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program
NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) has an academic scholarship program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as a Summer Intern Program. The programs are designed to foster new generations of highly skilled scientists and engineers which is felt to be critically important to the aeronautics community. The program is being administered by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). A visit to the NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program web site will provide you with more information.

Aviation training scholarships.
There have been several press releases lately of aviation training scholarships awarded to individuals in several different categories. A reference is often found naming a central site helping with identifying individuals eligible for scholarship assistance. A visit to http://www.CareersInAviation.org will provide more information.

Michelin Scholarship
Michelin Aircraft Tire, in partnership with Careers in Aviation, is offering a $1000 scholarship to a qualified applicant enrolled in an aviation-related degree program and maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average. General Aviation Security
AOPA has teamed up with the TSA and developed an online course covering General Aviation Security. Maintaining the security of our aircraft and general aviation airports is something that we must all be aware of and take part in. The first page has a sign-in form where you enter your first and last name and your email address before you begin the course material. You can find the course at ASF GA Security.

Able Flight, Inc.
Able Flight, inc. is a nonprofit organization which offers people with disabilities a way to experience the challenges and joys of flight. The organization was created by pilots desiring to share the life-changing experiences of learning to fly and developed a schorarship program to assist people with disabilities in optaining flight training.
